M4T Brownback

I've been feeling a little bit under the weather lately, and it's slowing me down. Also, I spent too much time nitpicking on a ton of unnecessary things with this guy here. I need to learn to loosen up.

Here's the linework.

Frogman Dive Suit

Felt the terrible urge to draw some kind of suit earlier this week, but somehow the initial hope and optimism I had faded midway.

Moving on..

Were-bat Sketch

A bat-like creature/monster of sorts. It was also a good anatomy practice for me. I might paint this up, if I don't get too distracted by other drawings that is.

FX2-Saboteur

Back to slightly familiar territory; robots! It's not that I've drawn many robots in my life, but I guess I do have an affinity to mechanical things. Having said that, it doesn't mean I'm any good at drawing such stuff!

This is probably my 2nd attempt at doing a mecha-like bot, the first being the Goliath.I probably spent quite a lot of time on this guy. But hey, who knew that drawing robots (or anything fun for that matter) directly relates to improving myself in my field?

I love my line of work. Now, off to watch John Carter, for "research" purposes.

Armour Sketching

It occurred to me that my portfolio doesn't contain enough stuff for the fantasy genre. I've never actually done classic fantasy characters, since I'm relatively new to doing conceptual art.

These are probably not the most interesting designs out there, but I'd like to see it as getting the generic ones out my system for a start. Also, the female seraph needs a bit more work.

Time for bed!

Feudal Future - Imperial Guard

A pretty unproductive weekend plagued by headaches. Spent a bit more time on drawing before actually painting this guy. I am fully aware that the helmet-hair isn't Japanese, but it improved the overall silhouette quite a bit.

At least the lines don't look like they're from a children's colouring book anymore.

Orc Grunt

I tried my hand at doing this whole speedpainting thing but I found I lacked both the speed and the required painting skills. Initially a lunch sketch, this soon turned into something that stretched across almost 3 lunch breaks in total.

I'm definitely not ready for this. Back to the lines for me.
