Sand Patrol Drone

I got distracted from my 'training' sketchbook and did this instead. I really should stop drawing robots for a while, especially humanoid ones!

This guy is supposed to be travelling around the desert in squads, keeping an eye out for unsavoury characters. Shoulders and legs are always a problem for me, and I doubt I managed to make them convincing enough. I did enjoy making the head and neck portion though.

Decided not to render it fully, in the interest of time. I need to get back to that sketchbook..

Lately, I've been spending more time in my sketchbooks trying to get back to some basic drawing. Somehow tonight, I felt like doing a bit of painting for a bit of fun. Gotta brush up on those environments anyway! Tried out a new brush and made a mess everywhere.

Anyway, that's the view you get when you step out of Magma Studios and look out the window.

Lone Desert Wanderer

In the previous post, I mentioned something about breakthrough. Well, this piece felt a little bit like one for me. I think I managed to overcome some obstacles that were somehow blocking my flow and affecting the way I thought about making art. I hope I can keep this up and keep moving forward.

Anyway, I imagined this robotic guy to be a lone wanderer who does not want to be found by the general public. However, he'll put up a fight when threatened!
